Unveiled's Wedding Inspiration

Are you getting married in the DC-area? If so, congrats!  A bridal event with vendors for every aspect of your big day is an essential planning tool to create your wedding magic. The Washingtonian Bride & Groom Unveiled Wedding Showcase was just that event.

The entire ballroom level of the Mandarin Oriental was filled with vendor displays, each more beautiful than the next. The Mandarin had the most decadent desserts (french macaroons, gelatinized champagne shots, artisanal chocolates) to taste while other vendors like Georgetown Cupcakes offered up their tasty cakes for brides to munch on. Florists like Amaryllis gave out custom-made bouquets for guests, event planners like SoCo Events displayed center piece inspirations and caterers like Better Events Catering presented hors d'oeuvres that were almost too pretty to eat (but don't worry I scarfed them all down none the less). Champagne was flowing and flutes were creatively hung upside down from the ceiling by ribbon that was then cut off by servers on stilts when guests requested a glass. There were so many things to 'ooh and ahh' over! The whole event was a feast for the eyes.

Although, I was busy doing the makeup for the models who were strutting down the runway in bridal designs by Reem Acra for the Unveiled fashion show, I did get a chance to sneak away and take a look at the event from my own bride-to-be perspective. I was wowed by all the details. Huge flower arrangements in different shades of white towered over the guests, dining displays with pops of magenta on geometric gray tablecloths stood out in the crowd, and dapperly dressed waiters brought around colorful candy bags for guests to take home. 


It was an honor to assist Carl Ray with the makeup for the Reem Acra Fashion Show and write about the event for his blog. We created a bright, flushed-face look for the models but kept the makeup natural as to not compete with Acra's whimsical creations. 

Washingtonian Bride & Groom Magazine did a great job putting on such a lively event and truly pampering and indulging their lovely guests!
