"New Year, New You" Event at Emerge Spa

Last Monday I had the pleasure of attending a fabulous fundraising event, at Emerge Spa in Beantown, to benefit the MSPCA-Angell P.E.T (Participate Entertain Transform) Project. The MSPCA is an animal protection agency in the Boston area that provides adoption, advocacy, and veterinary care. Not only was it a welcome distraction for my Monday blues but also a wonderful way to blend fashion, beauty and cupcakes (do I even need to say more?) with a worthwhile cause. The event raised money for local animal shelters and drew an enthusiastic crowd of stylish, compassionate New Englanders ready to get pampered and put their hard earned dollars towards a cause they felt passionate about. There was plenty happening to make every attendee there feel festive.

Wine, Hor d’oeuvres and “Kickass Cupcake” made the event tasty and “buzz-worthy”! The spa itself, which boats an impressive multi-story building dedicated to hair care, spa services and beauty maintenances, provided mini-manicures, massages, makeovers and hair styling. I, of course, jumped at the chance to pick the most obnoxiously bright pink for my nails. For the more retail-inclined souls there were racks of designer originals and way too tempting accessories for purchase courtesy of Tra Tutti, a high-end designer consignment shop and personalized fashion advice by local fashion consultants, Stlista.

Tra Tutti founder, Ashley Judge, was the mastermind behind the event. Her “couture with a conscience” company always contributes 20% of their sales to charities such as AIDS Action, Big Brother Big Sister, Home for Little Wanderers, Dress for Success, Rosie’s Place and of course the MSPCA-Angell of the consumer’s choice and this event was no exception. The charitable fashionista organized the entire evening and partnered with the MSPCA because of how close the organization was to her heart.

It was a wonderful night for charity and for fun. The event raised more than $1600 and the plentiful door prizes and raffles meant that many guests left with big smiles and full hands.
